Opening hours

The exhibition is usually open from 10 am to 7 pm

The entrance is free! Access to the exhibition is only possible with a ticket. This can be booked 5 days before the arrival of the ship at the tour location via the ticketing system. Each time slot can be booked by a maximum of 5 people. To the tour

In 2021, the tour will start in Hamburg on 5 June.  From there, the MS Wissenschaft heads north to Kiel, then south through Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and on to Bavaria. After a stop in Austria, this year's tour will end in Nuremberg on 26 October.

Target group

The exhibition is designed to be suitable for children aged 12 and over, teenagers and adults.

Audio guide

We offer a free audio guide through the exhibition in German. The audio guide can be borrowed from the information counter against a deposit. For reasons of hygiene, you can also use your headphones with a jack plug (3.5 mm) for the audio guide.

Wheelchair access

The exhibition on board the MS Wissenschaft is wheelchair accessible.

A stairlift with a maximum load of 225 kg and a platform size of 80 x 90 cm is available. A lightweight wheelchair can be provided in the exhibition (seat width 43 cm). There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet.

Accessibility at the landing stage may be restricted due to structural conditions or low water level. Please contact the on-board staff in advance by telephone (0172 1765936) to clarify the conditions on-site.

The Bistro on board unfortunately has to remain closed due to the current regulations to control Sars-CoV-2.  We ask for your understanding.

Air conditioning

The exhibition is air-conditioned and supplied with fresh air so that it remains pleasantly cool even when outside temperatures are high.
